Lauren grew up in Orange County, and earned a B.A. in Psychology from U.C. Berkeley in 1998. After receiving her J.D. from Duke University School of Law in 2002, Lauren joined a firm in San Francisco, where she practiced general commercial litigation. Lauren later moved to another San Francisco firm, where she specialized in construction, surety, and labor law.

In her free time, Lauren enjoys cheering on Duke basketball, baking, and reading about European history.
