When you began SLS in 1997 - did you imagine or hope for a successor to carry your business into the future?
It was a dream I always had, but never imagined would come to fruition. My goal as a Mom was to teach my daughters independence and I tried to nurture them to find their own dreams and goals.
You must be thrilled with Jenny at the helm of SLS! With her dynamic career and business background, what qualities are you looking forward to her bringing to Swan Legal’s future success?
She’s already contributed more than I had imagined. She’s taken the tiger by the tail and has relentlessly culled through administrative practices, vendor agreements, practices and procedures, etc. and given them a fresh eye. She’s making organized, smart improvements. She’s owned her authority and has impressed the team with her sage advice and vision for a bright future. I am indeed thrilled. I knew she was smarter than me, better educated, and her work experience lent a new excitement to SLS. She came armed with a start-up mentality, fresh, full of ideas and energy to enact change.
What’s next for you, Delia? Post-SLS plans?
Not sure. I’ve worked full time, except during law school, since I was 15. Part of the joy in looking forward is not knowing what’s next. I’m loving the adventure and am confident that inspiration will capture me and toss me to the winds of some new horizons. Of course, I’m always tethered to SLS for as long as I’m wanted!
